Victory Church began its Bible school in 1984. This early school was geared to equipping lay leaders and those desiring to enter full time ministry. Affiliated with Word of Faith Outreach Center, the school strictly consisted of video teachings. Dissatisfied with video teaching only, in 1988 Victory Church took another step and introduced teaching by ministers and leaders in the church.

Staying involved in the local church while being equipped was an important consideration for establishing Bethesda College. The curriculum is designed to encourage the student to be involved in hands-on ministry and be exposed to many different areas of ministry while attending the college.
